Rocks and Landscape in Fabrics and Fibres

Join Caroline Mann, Cheryl Jackson and Elizabeth Pickett (Geodiversity Officer, North Pennines AONB Partnership) for a creative day interpreting the North Pennine landscape with felt, silk paper-making and the traditional craft of hooky & proggy. Be inspired by the stunning landscapes, rocks, fossils and minerals of the West Allen Valley!

In addition to materials which will be provided please bring needles, sharp scissors and an old towel (for felt-making). If you have any fabrics you would like to use for hooky & proggy, please bring them with you.

Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own packed lunch.

Costs
£15 per person (payable on booking)
£7 per person for materials (payable on the day)

Felt Landscapes and Pictures with Cheryl Jackson, Friday 7th March, 10am - 4pm.

Come along to the Hexham House Bowls Pavilion in Hexham Parks to learn the traditional art of felt making. We will create felt pictures inspired by the Northumberland landscape. Booking is essential for this event.  The cost of the workshop is £15.00 and is subsidized by Tynedale Council.  Please bring a packed lunch or visit one of the many eateries in Hexham.

Activities run from 11am - 3.30pm and Cheryl will be running felt making workshops from 12 noon on both days.

Prepareto be baffled, puzzled and amazed by the world of science. Try yourhand at programming lego robots, look at the world through the lens ofa digital microscope, meet the challenge of magic mirrors and take ajourney through the Serpent Garden to discover the wonderful world of physics. Make a Silk Paper Meadow,

Join Caroline Mann and Rebecca Barrett (North Pennines AONB Hay Meadows Area Coordinator) for a creative and inspirational day, starting with a visit to a hay meadow in bloom, followed by a creative workshop where you wil be able to create your own work in silk paper, inspired by the flora of the meadow and surrounding Weardale landscape.

In addition to materials which will be provided, please bring needles, and sharp scissors and if you have any special fabrics, threads and yarns that you would like to use in your work, please bring these with you.

Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own packed lunch and suitable outdoor clothing for the visit to the hay meadow.
